San Diego heavy music is making waves—and Scorpion Signature Artist Seth Roscamp is right behind the kit.
His band, Cascade Effect, has signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Eclipse Records, released its new single “Rogue Wave,” and is gearing up for a music video debut ahead of its forthcoming full-length album, The Weight of Nothingness. With the album arriving January 8, 2027, there’s plenty for the Scorpion family to get loud about.
For us, this one hits close to home: a San Diego band pushing forward, with a Scorpion artist helping drive the charge.
From San Diego Stages to a Worldwide Deal
Cascade Effect brings together crushing heaviness, melody, and the kind of dynamic shifts that give a drummer room to make an impact. Their sound pulls from deathcore, groove metal, melodic death metal, progressive textures, and nu metal—giving fans several reasons to turn it up.
The band already has a major accomplishment behind it: winning Wacken Metal Battle USA in 2024. Now, its partnership with Eclipse Records marks another significant step forward.
That momentum is something we love seeing in our artist community. The rehearsals, local shows, and work behind the scenes add up. A worldwide record deal is a milestone worth celebrating.
Seth Roscamp: Scorpion Behind the Kit
At the drums is Seth Roscamp, a Scorpion Signature Artist representing our hometown heavy music scene.
Seth’s setup of choice is his Scorpion 5B Oval, 16-inch Venom Grip signature model. It’s a straightforward combination: his preferred size, oval tip, Venom Grip finish, and personal signature artwork.
