I alternate between 5A and 7A sticks depending on the situation. My brand’s 7A rarely go on sale, so I wanted an affordable alternative. These are close enough to my preferred sticks that I used Scorpion’s model for rehearsal and a few sets over the weekend. They held up extremely well. Happy with their weight and performance. I should have bought more than 1 pair when they ran a special sale.
These texts have the perfect grip for my playing style. You should check them out for yourself.
No matter what you buy from Scorpion Percussion, Drumsticks, Apparel, Drum gear, it’s always the best top quality stuff money can buy!
Why are all drummers not using these sticks???? I’ve been a Scorpion artist for around three years now (maybe a little longer) and I’m just blown away every time I use them!! Over the years I’ve used them all. But Scorpion is BY FAR the best I’ve EVER used!! So balanced! So durable! So many choices! Never had a stick I could count on as much I do Scorpion!!
I’ve been a signature artist with scorpion for years and couldn’t be happier with them! I have yet to break a stick! I end up giving them to a fan before I break them! Amazing sticks!!!
An authentic Stick-Pen! Now you can always have a SCORPION stick in your hand!
I've been using P-brand active grip sticks for about 8 years, never had any issues until within the last 9 months or so when I started breaking them much more frequently than before. Don't know if the quality of wood has changed or what, so after seeing Scorpion popping up in my social media for a long time, I decided to give them a try and ordered 2 pairs of Immortal Series 5A .565". First impression out of the box was they're slightly larger diameter than what I'd been using even though they're both 5A. Once I started playing, I immediately could feel that they were also heavier, which is not a bad thing for me, I like the extra beefiness. These arrived a few days before I was about to fill in for my friend's Iron Maiden tribute band, so I immediately put them through their paces for a 2 hour practice session for the gig, then I used the same pair at the gig and they held up quite admirably. The left stick had some splintering from rim shots but nothing that looked deep enough to break. The other stick had a small chip break off the tip (acorn) but other than that I feel like they were quite durable and I really like the extra power compared to what I'm used to. The grip dip seemed comparable to active grip and I like that the entire stick isn't coated so there's not black rubbery residue along with the usual sawdust everywhere. I will very likely be purchasing many more pairs after this!
They look bad ass and are very comfortable. They also do double duty offering some cushion when working with kettlebells. Great product all around.
Just got my 7AX’s. These are the best 7A’s I’ve used. The weight and balance are perfect and the oval tips are beefy and bring big tone out of cymbals and toms.
Hmmm, which one should I use, my Signature Series Venom Drum Sticks, or my Signature Series Drum Stick Pens?
Let’s see, both are excellent, but, if I use my Pens, I can write down notes. These Signature Artist Drum Stick Pens are great, I’ve already gave out several and the people that received them really liked them….They look nice too, see photos!
These people are on it ,when it comes to customer service
Couldn't ask for better service
The weight and feel are outstanding. The venom grip costs a little more, but you know where the money went. And they're durable AF. As long as Scorpion makes sticks, I will be a loyal customer.
I've tried Pro-Mark, Ahead, Zildjian, Vater and Silverfox sticks over the years, but came to be a Vic-Firth hardo for the longest period of that time. I switched to Scorpion when I started seeing them online and at shows where my favorite drummers were using them.
When I started practicing push-pull I needed more volume out of the pad or drum head, and a big old pair of Vic Firth Corps master marching sticks wouldn't cut it. The weight of the marching stick was good to learn the fundamental of the motion, but I felt the length was too short. Even the 5B Extremes weren't heavy or long enough to get to my desired feel, and they don't make a 2B extreme.
After trying a pair from a local drummer, and seeing that this 17" length is pretty much the longest stick you can get on the market I had to try them. I noticed a difference instantly and my progress with push-pull has come very far! I went from about 190bpm to just over 245bpm in a relatively short amount of time. I feel like that is partly really understanding the hand technique, but the rest is having the proper weighted and long enough stick to throw. Every pair seems to be just as good as the last and the stick holds together for a very long time even if you rim-shot a lot. Even regular wrist technique seems to be much smoother overall with this stick.
Thanks for making killer sticks Scorpion!
I wanted to wait to review these sticks until I had time to put them through several rehearsals and at least one gig. I picked up these and a few rehearsal sets and I'm very impressed. I've been a long-time Vic player, but I find they don't hold up very well. Part of that is because I'm a metal drummer and beat the crap out of my kit. Scorpions have held up INCREADBLY well! I've found the rehearsal variants are slightly lighter but still very durable. The immortals are perfect. Scorpion Percussion and these sticks deserve a great deal more attention as their quality is blowing the "big-name" brands out of the water!
They are comfortable and stylish all in one.
