"I beat the sh*t out of em and they still don’t break!"
Born and raised in San Diego, California Stephen started playing drums at the age of eight years old.. Started listening to his dad‘s albums from Ozzie to Led Zeppelin to Van Halen and the list goes on. Would come home every day after school I started playing to these albums.Stephen realize he had a knack for the Drums and never look back, signed his first record deal at the age of 15 with the progressive group dark illusion. Went on signed another deal with squeaky fromme. from there he joined the band Swan pathogen, which took his drumming to new heights that project was short-lived and then media lab was formed, which they had to record deals underneath their belt with that Steven was soon signed with Sabian symbols and pearl Drums. He was with media lab for about a good solid 8 years. Then the band disbanded everyone went their own ways. They then regrouped for a short period but due to conflict it didn’t go too far ever since then Steve has been playing in numerous groups, solo artist, also doing live shows in studio drumming. Media lab is preparing to do a second album that’s in the works so be on the lookout for that When he’s not playing drum Steven loves to race RC cars, watch a good horror movie and eat some good Mexican food. He’s married to Jacquelynn Wakefield and has three sons. Steven continues to push the boundaries of drumming like no other Stephen is now a part of the Scorpion Percusion family and is looking forward to the future with them.
