Mike "The Warrior” Maenza Drums/Vocals
Born in Rochester, New York now living in Brooklyn, NYC. Mike has been playing the drums for over 25 years. He also sings and plays guitar. Inspired by his drumming idols including: Gene Krupa, Keith Moon, Bun E Carlos, John Bonham, Neil Peart, Tommy Aldridge, Tommy Lee, Scott Travis, Zoltan Chaney, Chip Ritter Etc... He's a solid timekeeper, with great groove, fluent in many styles of modern and classic drumming, with flair for showmanship and over the top energy. Having been a working drummer the past 17 years in NYC speaks volumes. Mike has traveled and toured all over the U.S. and Europe. He's performed and or recorded with some of the industries most successful recording artist's including: Steven Tyler of Aerosmith Brett Scallions of Fuel Sebastian Bach of Skid Row, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister Speech of Arrested Development, Lou Gramm of Foreigner, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany Howard, Jones Martin, Frye of ABC, Colin Hay of Men at Work, Bonnie Tyler, Rob Base Daryl, DMC McDanniels of Run DMC, Doug E Fresh, The Sugar Hill Gang, Katrina of Katrina and The Waves, Taylor Dayne, Broadway stars Constantine Maroulis (American Idol/Rock of Ages) and Lena Hall (Hedwig & The Angry Inch). He's also an in demand session player with numerous credits on many jingles/commercials. His quick learning skills and overall great work ethic have made him everyone's favorite sub in the NYC club scene, sometimes filling with little or no notice. He’s been teaching drums on and off the past 15 years. The past 6 years at his Brooklyn beat lab studio located in the Gowanus area of Brooklyn. His students learn stick control, independence, groove study, showmanship, working with a click or loop, drum tuning/gear upkeep and how to successfully play and work with bandmates.
