I love the barrel tip for worship music. It provides great warmth and tone from the drums and cymbals. I had been using the Meinl 8A Hybrid Hickory and found that the barrel tip chipped really easily. I switched to Wincent 55XFL Barrel tips and they were better but I found I needed some grip tap due to recent carpal tunnel surgery. I talked with the team at Scorpion, and they made me a batch of the 8D Immortal Hickory with Barrel tips. These barrel tips, are not like the other companies. They are longer and significantly stronger. The venom grip also is in my opinion better than the active grip by promark and I no longer need to use drum tape either which would slide down as I played even with some gaffer tape at the top of the wrap. These sticks are incredibly well balanced and sound awesome on cymbals especially when being trying to be tasteful and add a little color to the song. Cannot recommend the team at Scorpion Percussion enough!

I've ordered 5 different pair before deciding on my larger order. The wood tips hold up better than any I've used, I typically use nylon tips. I like the balance and overall solid feel of the Scorpion sticks.

I exclusively ised another brand if drumstick but i was intrigued by the Venom Grip. As a senior citizen, I had already switched from 5A to 5B for comfort. The Venom Grip is just what I needed! These drumsticks are high quality and the Scorpion logo is flippin’ cool.
For me any drumstix that has a coating on it is my choice of drumstick for a better non slip grip!😉 will make other purchases soon👍
