“ You had me at American Weapon Grade Hickory!” All jokes aside, Scorpion are the most durable well matched product on the market hands down no …exceptions. They simply feel better & last longer than any other sticks I’ve played. I’m honoured to be involved with such great people & a such great company."
I started drumming pretty late at age 15. My first kit was a 70’s Tama Rockstar although there was very little rockstar about it. It had been salvaged from the local landfill & I didn’t have Cymbal stands so I fashioned some out of broom handles with nails in the end to sit some cheap and nasty cymbals on (very humble beginnings…) I’m basically self taught, I started out playing along to some Free, Tom Petty & Eagles records that my dad gave me. Once I had a handle on those I progressed to trying to emulate Deep Purple’s Ian Paice & Thin Lizzy’s Brian Downey. I’m still trying! Playing drums has been the only thing I’ve done that’s held my interest for any length of time & I’m glad it did, I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over Australia the UK & the USA doing it. I’ve met & played with some amazing people along the way, Dan Anderson and Scorpion Percussion being some of them along with my Wayland family. Players that influenced me; Deep Purple (Ian Paice) Tom Petty & The Heartbreaks (Stan Lynch) Thin Lizzy (Brian Downey) XTC (Terry Chambers)
