John Devos is a drummer based out of the Seattle, WA area and currently plays for Blighted Eye (Melodic Death Metal), Mesmur (Funeral Doom), Blood Atonement (Black Metal) and Dalla Nebbia (Progressive Black Metal). Other bands that he has worked with include Funeral Age (USA), Pantheist (UK), Ennui (Tbilisi), and Comatose Vigil A.K. (Russia). John began his musical journey playing guitar in the 7th grade, but moved to the drums at the age of 14 after the drummer of his band quit. His earliest influences include such drummers as Joey Joridson, Gene Hoglan, Dave Lombardo, and Iggor Cavalera, and over time have grown to include Baard Kolstad, Martin Lopez, Eloy Casagrande, and Maciej “Darkside” Kowalski.
