"By far the best high quality drumsticks I have used."
Glen Maiden gained worldwide recognition as one of America’s foremost rock drummers while playing with Joe Cocker in the late seventies. His incisive playing garnered him an international following and influenced generations of drummers. While Glen digs rock and roll and funk, he consider blues his first love, and playing that music is what he says feeds his soul. Besides Joe Cocker, Glen has performed and recorded with such well-known greats as Joe Walsh, Steve Winwood, Davey Johnstone, Rick Springfield, Frank Black and the Catholics, Hollywood Blues Dogs, Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, Stephen Duffy of Duran Duran, Simon Le Bon of Arcadia, Alan Lancaster of Status Quo, Bernard Sumner of New Order, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Larry Coryell, Mike Wolff, 20th. Century Fox, movie scores, and The Gil Evans Orchestra.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, Glen influenced by his Grandfather, a former drummer himself for the late great Bob Crosby best known for his group the Bob Cats. His Grandfather had a great appreciation for jazz and blues music, and Glen credits this exposure as forming the foundation for his ability to synthesize many different regional styles. From age 7, he was a prodigy, sitting in with house bands in Philadelphia and New Jersey. By the time he reached his early twenties, he had become influenced of the distinctive style coming out of Philadelphia known as The Philly Sound.
By 2000, Glen had made his forte into the popular Southern California blues scene. His group Give Me Back My Wig pulled together cross-generational talents, such as Duke Cullinan, Kara Turner, Bill Hayes, Joe Campbell, Tom Manion, Glenn Stacey, Paul Cummins, Danny Brown, Paul Alvarado, Steve Payne Jr., Gail Joy Stewart, Colin McNeely and Robert Eichler. Credits of artists he has worked with in the past.
Glen has shared the stage with just about everyone you can think of including Joe Cocker, Joe Walsh, Dave Mason, John Mayall, Robin Trower, Savoy Brown, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rick Derringer, Edger Winter, Robben Ford, Teddy Lee Hooker and Southside Johnny And The Asbury Jukes. Currently Glen performs with Southern California bands, Give Me Back My Wig and Dusty And The LoveNotes. And occasionally guest sitting in with The Martin Luther King Jr, choir. He also welcomes the variety in session work.
