"I've never played a more durable set of sticks that I can rely on for long tours"
As a teenager in the height of MySpace Steve played in several independent and small label bands from 2004-2011, doing parts of the Warped Tour and a bunch of Canada and USA touring. by 2011 the photos he took on the road became his claim to fame, with work published in major music publications, album artwork for artists on labels like Universal, Rise Records and dozens more. He became the go to photographer for touring bands, and even Much Music (MTV Canada). His success in photography and music videos shifted his focus to the visual side of the industry though he still did some session drumming for artists, performed to crowds of over 20,000 people at the Toronto Raptors half time shows and other projects. He even became a judge for the Academy awards the JUNOs (Canadian equivalent of the Grammys).
In 2022 Steve went on a USA tour as a photographer with a new band "Living Dead Girl." the band's success took off quickly with its debut track reaching #17 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts and being the #1 most added rock song for two consecutive weeks. The band was trying to build from the momentum and wanted a full time touring drummer moving forward, after nearly a dozen auditions and the tour coming up fast Steve Haining offered to learn the set and "fill in" for the tour to help them until they found a permanent member. Steve's live performance and powerful attitude on stage gained him a lot of recognition from existing fans and new ones. He also already knew the band and so life on the road came easy to everyone on the team. Filling in for one tour turned into 3 tours and he became the official drummer for the band ever since!
At the end of 2025, Living Dead Girl put out its second full length album "Conspiracy," The first single "Poison Me" Reached Number 15 on the USA MediaBase Active Rock Charts, A softer track "Survival Mode" became the #4 most added rock song and peaked at #24 on the MediaBase Active Rock charts, and is now also making radio up in Canada, The focus track "Succubus" became the bands first song to make it into heavy rotation on SiriusXM Octane peaking at #29 most played on Octane. 5 other of the bands singles also made it to airplay on SiriusXM Octane and Steve & Molly (vocalist) were invited to the SiriusXM headquarters in LA to be live on the air at the headbangers happy hour.
The band is still actively touring and has made powerful appearances at major festivals including Rock Fest(WI), Upheaval(MI), EDBD(FL), Inkcarceration(OH), Canadian Music Week, NxNE(On) and more.
