Scott became obsessed with music at an early age. At 4 and 5 years old he was listening to all the popular artists on the radio at the time with his record player. Rick Springfield and country super group, Alabama were his first loves. Scott received his first drum set at the age of 10, after seeing Tommy Lee of Motley Crue on the Girls, Girls, Girls tour in the rotating, 360 cage. He decided that's what he wanted to do with his life. He taught himself by watching the videos on MTV at the time, and seeing what the drummers did that caused the beat or sound. Heavily influenced in the beginning by the likes of Tommy Lee, Rikki Rockett, Alex Van Halen, Mark Herndon and the showman aspect of drumming, later he would become obsessed with the likes of John Bonham and the tone of the drums.
Coming full circle, Scott is now the drummer of Boys in the Band--The Alabama Tribute. The Boys, hailing from Fort Payne, the same hometown as Alabama, currently play around 50 shows a year around the country. Their mission is to put on the same high energy, entertaining show Alabama played in the 80's and 90's. Check out their page for a show near you soon.
