Born in Chicago, Illinois to a Navy family, I have lived all over the world, giving me the opportunity to experience many different musical cultures and genres. Music has always been my passion and my high school band director was a strong influence on my musical career from the beginning. I've been playing drums since 1981 and have performed all over the United States, Caribbean, Europe, Western Asia and North Africa. I joined the Navy right out of high school and retired after 28 years with the Navy Music Program where I had the opportunity to learn from and perform with some great musicians. Outside of military music, I've performed in many genres with a variety of bands across the country. After moving around for the first 52 years of my life, my family and I settled down in Cincinnati, Ohio and found our forever home. In 2023, I returned to academia at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash for my Applied Media Communications A.A.S. where I studied all aspects of media production. Upon graduation in 2025, I transitioned over to the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for a BFA in Media Production with a concentration in audio engineering and music production. I'm expected to graduate in the fall of 2027 and continue on to the Masters MFA program in Theater Sound Design. I have an amazing wife, Christina (also a musician), three awesome children, two great stepchildren, and five beautiful grandchildren. My current equipment inventory includes Scorpion Immortal Series 5A Ball 16.5" V Series with Venom Grip, Pearl Drums/Hardware, DW Pedals, Zildjian Cymbals, Shure Microphones/IEM, Sennheiser Microphones, Roland Electronic Drums and Cymbals (TD50), RocNSoc Drum Thrones, PreSonus Digital and Rackmount Mixers, Allen & Heath Analog Board, Yorkville Cabinets, Crown Amplifiers, Alesis Electronics, DBX Electronics, JBL Monitors, FocusRite Interfaces. My software consists of Avid Pro Tools, Apple Logic Pro, Ableton Live, PreSonus Studio One, Capture, and a variety of plug-ins from UA, Izotope, Native Instruments, among others.
