Originally from Escondido, California, Justin Rodemoyer moved to Southern Colorado in 1991 and began playing drums at eight years old. His passion for percussion quickly became a lifelong pursuit. During his school years, Justin performed in concert and jazz bands and served as snare captain of the Rye High School marching band, where he received the John Philip Sousa Award for musical excellence.
Over the years, Justin has become a familiar face in the Southern Colorado music scene, performing hundreds of shows ranging from clubs and festivals to major concert stages. His musical background spans rock, country, alternative, and metal, with past and present projects including Unsworn, The Barnburners, The Matt Fuson Band, and A Second To Breathe.
Justin's live career has included headlining performances at the Colorado State Fair, appearances at some of Southern Colorado's largest festivals and events, and sharing the stage with nationally recognized artists. In 2026, his original modern rock band "A Second To Breathe" won The LaMar Theater Battle of the Bands, earning the opportunity to open for Buckcherry. The band went on to perform to a sold-out crowd at The LaMar, marking another milestone in Justin's career behind the kit.
Today, Justin performs with both A Second To Breathe and The Matt Fuson Band. Known for his powerful, energetic playing style and focus on groove, feel, and consistency, he brings decades of live-performance experience to every stage. Whether performing original modern rock or covering multiple decades and genres, his approach remains the same: play for the song, lock in with the band, and give the audience everything he has.
Justin proudly plays DW and Roland drums, Sabian cymbals, DW hardware, and Scorpion Percussion drumsticks.
