Dennis “the Menace” Ritchie is a founding member of Chicago’s Murder Metal Trio, MACABRE. Forming in 1985 the band has blended elements of Death Metal & Grind-core with true crime storytelling that has lead them to a legendary status. Celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2025, the band include special performances at Milwaukee Metal Fest, Wacken Open Air and very special headlining set at Brutal Assault. Dennis, is a pioneer of the intense double bass style, mixing blast beats with technical precision. His distinctive style has been an influence on Lars to Hoglan and countless in between. This innovative style can be heard all the way back on the band’s 1987 release, Grim Reality and 1989’s Gloom. MACABRE’s extensive catalog is represented worldwide by Nuclear Blast Records. And with 9 albums, a 40 year die hard fanbase, world wide touring and influence; it’s easy to see why they are still a dominant force in metal today.
