VEER to release Halloween single, vinyl

Heavyweight Rockers VEER Release Their Latest Single, “Pet Sematary,” Just in Time for Halloween

Maryland-based hard rockers VEER featuring Scorpion Percussion Signature Artist Jon Malfi will unleash their newest single, “Pet Sematary,” just in time for Halloween. The song, originally written and recorded by the Ramones for inclusion in the 1989 Stephen King film adaptation of his novel of the same name, the Maryland quartet have recorded their own version that promises to make heads spin and usher in the sounds of the October season.

“It’s VEER gone punk,” said frontman Ronald Malfi. “But not really—it’s the Ramones’ song with a VEER spin. We used to play this song during concerts around Halloween and we thought, hell, we should record it and put it out there for the fans. And that’s exactly what we did.”

Produced by Steve Wright and licensed from Warner Music, the single drops on October 30 on all streaming platforms. In the meantime, the band has released a pre-order link for a limited edition vinyl of the song, along with a bunch of additional merchandise: $30 gets you the single on vinyl, a version on CD, an 8-inch die cut zombie hand sticker, a signed 6x6 flat, and the band’s official trading card (#5 in the series). The package can be pre-ordered from the band’s website at veerband.net/store.html

“Unlike the Stephen King story itself,” said Malfi, “once these packages are gone, they won’t be coming back from the dead.”
