“It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of our beloved Ozzy Osbourne. Early this morning, the world lost a legend. Surrounded by family and love, Ozzy left us, but his impact on music and the lives of millions will live on forever.
From Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis, we ask that everyone respect our family's privacy during this difficult time.”

A Legacy of Music, Humanity, and Defiance
I remember the first time I heard Black Sabbath on the FM radio in the mid-to-late 80s around Toledo, Ohio. The unmistakable guitar tone of Tony Iommi, the smooth bass lines of Geezer Butler, the thunderous and buttery drums of Bill Ward, and, of course, the voice of Ozzy Osbourne. This was no ordinary band. This was a group of musicians who, together, crafted timeless music that would pave the way for the heavy metal genre.
But what truly set Ozzy apart was his spirit. A man who knew the weight of his legendary status, yet refused to let it define him. Even in his final years, Ozzy gathered his band and fans one last time to celebrate art, music, and existence itself. For many of us, it wasn’t about his status as the “Prince of Darkness” — it was about how he showed us that we could be ourselves and still thrive. Despite the chaos, and the ups and downs, making us feel like “we’re going off the rails on a crazy train”, we can always hit that play button again and get some reassurance that everything is going to be alright.
Whether it was with Black Sabbath or as a solo artist, one thing was always clear: John Michael Osbourne, the man from Birmingham, England, was destined to change the world. He found his calling, committed to it, and overcame adversity set upon him by the world around. Ozzy Osbourne’s music has inspired countless bands and artists across generations. His influence on the world of rock and heavy music is immeasurable, and the homage paid to him by artists around the globe speaks volumes about his impact. He leaves behind a 60 year legacy of music that will continue to resonate in our hearts and minds forever.
Rest in Peace, Dark Prince
Ozzy Osbourne, the Prince of Darkness, may no longer walk among us, but his legacy will live on for eternity. His music, his attitude, and his undeniable spirit will continue to inspire and shape the world of rock and metal music. We extend our deepest condolences to the Osbourne family and all the fans who are mourning the loss of this legendary figure.
Rest easy, Dark Prince. You are loved, and you will always be remembered.
With love,
